Research: Magazine Front Cover Analysis 1

Does the image relate to the headline? How? How big is the image? The headline will relate to a certain type of music

Is the model(s) looking in to the camera? Yes

If one person, what is the pose? What is the shot type? It's a close up, with the person looking straight
faced into the camera

Has the photo been manipulated? If so, how? Is the picture sharp and clear? The photo has been used to high light Kanye West, the photo is very clear

How much of the image is covered by text? The image is on top of any text as it is the main feature

Is the background in focus? Is the background cluttered? The back ground is empty and Blank

Is the image black and white or colour or both? The image is in colour

What is the model wearing that represents the genre? How does the clothing appeal to the TA?
The clothing isn't very visible as it is a close up shot

Is the photo taken in  studio or location? Studio

What Props are included? Non

Music Mags are constantly being reinvented to attract the TA. Does this follow the convention or is it something new? This is quite Conventional as it is just a simple photo

Which elements do you Particularly like about the Mag and which might you use? I like the fact the photo is the centre and not event the title of the Mag gets in the way

What is the Most outstanding Feature? The importance of the Photo which even over powers the title of the Mag

Where on the page is the masthead? What colour is the Masthead? How much of the page does it occupy? The masthead is at a the top of the page and is a light blue colour the title takes up to 1 fifth to 1 quarter

Is the masthead font serif or san serif? Would i us it? The masthead is San serif and i would consider using it

How many cover stories are there on the front cover? 8-9

Are they are all the same font style? Are they all the same size? Font is different styles for different stores and also different styles

How does the font represent the genre? How does the font appeal to the TA? The font is very clean and simple which is used for many different genres not just a specific genre

Are there any banners? Are the Banners semi-transparent? There isn't a banner but there is a stretch of right that could represent a banner

What is the main colour scheme?  Are there any colour that you might be the house style? What do you think makes the house style?  That remain colour scheme is blue, pink and white.

Is the Mag intended to appeal to a Male or Female TA? How do you know this? The Mag is intended to a Male and Female as it is a popular artist on the cover that appeals to both Male and Female

Does the Mag have a slogan? No

Is there a sell line?-

How does the Mag front cover connote the Mag quality? High Quality
